UPCOMING AUDITIONS

The next production we will be auditioning for is THE ADDAMS FAMILY (musical).  Please read this page for all important information.

 

KEY DATES:

  • Open Information Night - 23rd May 2024 from 7pm-9pm at Clark Memorial Church Hall, Largs

  • Auditions - 28th and 30th May 2024 from 7pm-9pm at Clark Memorial Church Hall, Largs

​PREPARATION:

  • No preparation is needed as all information will be given at the Open Night.  If you cannot attend the open night please let us know.

  • You may wish to familiarise yourself with the score by listening to the official cast recording available on all usual streaming services.

  • Please ensure you wear clothing and footwear that is comfortable and allows for energetic movement!

At the auditions you will meet the creative team for this production which is:

  • Director - Maggie Cunningham

  • Musical Director - Stuart McArthur

  • Choreographer - Sarah Craigmile

WHAT WE ARE CASTING FOR:

We are casting for principals and ensemble.  As an amateur club, there are no paid roles. 

The minimum age for auditionees is 14.  All those auditioning must  be comfortable with singing, acting and movement, and be able to commit to the production as outlined below.  A description of the show and characters is below.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • Available for the performances from 9th to 12th October 2024 including a Saturday matinee.

  • Available for the week prior to the opening night for technical and dress rehearsals on dates TBC.

  • Commitment to rehearsals which take place in Largs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in June, August, September and early October, with additional Sunday afternoon rehearsals in September.

  • Willingness to bring positive energy to the rehearsal room, and to foster a happy room for all.

  • Please note that auditions are open to all members, or non-members.  If cast, you will require to become a member of the club prior to the first rehearsal. Annual rates are set by the club at the AGM in March, but currently these are £20 full, £10 concession/student.

ABOUT THE SHOW:

"The Addams Family" is a larger-than-life musical comedy that follows the delightfully macabre Addams family as they face the ultimate challenge: hosting a dinner for Wednesday Addams' "normal" boyfriend and his parents. As Gomez and Morticia Addams try to uphold their family's eccentric traditions, chaos ensues, revealing secrets, love triangles, and dark family dynamics. Through quirky songs, dark humour, and bizarre antics, the Addams family learns the importance of embracing their uniqueness while navigating the complexities of love, acceptance, and the bonds of family.

  • Morticia - female identifying - playing age 35 to 55 years - vocal range Mezzo Soprano

  • Fester - male identifying -  playing age 60+ (performer can be made up if naturally younger) - vocal range Tenor / Baritone

  • Wednesday - female identifying - playing age 16-20 - vocal range Pop Soprano / Mezzo

  • Pugsley - male identifying - playing age under 18 - vocal range A3-F5 Alto

  • Lurch - male identifying - playing age 40+ years, tall and sonorous - vocal range Bass

  • Grandma - female identifying - playing age 60 years+ (performer can be made up if naturally younger) - vocal range Alto

  • Lucas - male identifying - playing age to match Wednesday as her boyfriend - vocal range Pop Tenor / Baritone

  • Alice - female identifying - playing age 40 to 60 years, mother of Lucas - Soprano with confident belt

  • Mal - male identifying - playing age 40 to 60 years, father of Lucas - vocal range Tenor / High Baritone
